Saturday’s Cox Plate meeting has lost a major drawcard with boom sprinter Hay List out of the Group 2 Moir Stakes (1200m).
It is believed he has a high temperature, and that trainer John McNair will be careful with him to ensure he’s fit to run in the Group 1 Patinack Farm Classic (1200m) on the final day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
It will still be a top class race with news that Black Caviar has accepted for the race.
It will be a battle of the mares, with the unbeaten Black Caviar to take on Group 1 winners Hot Danish and Melito.
