European import My Kingdom Of Fife has backed up his Australian debut win two weeks ago with success in the Group One Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick.
The Kingmambo six-year-old sprang a $151 upset in the Doncaster Mile Prelude (1600m) on a rain-affected Randwick track last start and repeated the dose in heavier conditions over 2000m at the same course on Saturday.
With Nash Rawiller in the saddle, the Chris Waller-trained gelding settled midfield with Zavite making the pace and improved to be stalking the leaders at the top of the straight.
Three-year-old Retrieve took the lead soon after turning for home but Rawiller had him in his sights and urged My Kingdom Of Fife home to beat Sacred Choice with the Waller-trainer Syreon third.
“Geez he travelled well in the run,” Rawiller said.
“He just towed me into the race.
“When I got into him he found, it was great.”
