One of last season’s promising two-year-olds is gearing up for a return to the racetrack following an injury enforced lay-off.

The Mick Price-trained Secret Agenda had a jump-out at Sandown on Thursday and will trial again at Cranbourne on Friday.

Secret Agenda made a big impression with her debut win over Haybah and Regazzo De Corsa at Moonee Valley last December.

Her campaign was halted when she was injured in the Blue Diamond Fillies Prelude at Caulfield on February 14.

The daughter of Not A Single Doubt was galloped on in that race and required surgery to remove almost four inches of splint bone.

Price says Secret Agenda is progressing nicely for a return to racing, likely to be in a benchmark 70 race at Sandown on September 2.

“She’s had a long time out,” Price said.

“She’ll trial at Cranbourne on Friday and then she can go to Sandown six days later.

“After that we’ll look at those three-year-old sprinting fillies races.

“She’s a bit stronger and more robust than what she was last preparation, is completely sound and I’m happy with her.”

Price said Secret Agenda would be kept to sprinting this campaign, adding he had not nominated her for the spring fillies features.

“We’ll just keep her sprinting,” he said.

“I think I’d ruin her if I stretched her too far.”

While Secret Agenda will be kept to short course races, Price is predicting a bright future for Celtic Tiger who has been nominated for the Caulfield Guineas and will also be a Victoria Derby entry.

Celtic Tiger also had a jump-out at Sandown on Thursday and is another of a large team of Price-trained horses heading to Cranbourne to trial.

The son of O’Reilly has only had one start, finishing second Godolphin colt Moher in a 1400m-Seymour maiden in April.

Price says he has made plenty of improvement and will start his Derby preparation in a 1400m-maiden.

“He’s a lovely horse by O’Reilly that I’ve got a lot of time for,” Price said.
