Golden Slipper winner Vancouver will head to the $1 million Golden Rose without another race.
Vancouver suffered his first defeat when fourth in the San Domenico Stakes.
Trainer Gai Waterhouse says Vancouver will not line up in Saturday’s Run To The Rose and will instead run in a barrier trial next week ahead of the Group One Golden Rose on September 12.
San Domenico Stakes winner Japonisme will be given his chance in the Run To The Rose alongside his Chris Waller-trained stablemate Press Statement, winner of the Group One J J Atkins in June.
