Champion mare Winx is in the nominations for next months Japan Cup at Tokyo Racecourse.
Winx who will be going for a third consecutive Cox Plate win in next Saturday’s edition of race has been nominated for the invitational worth over $3.5million AUD to the winner.
The Japan Cup will be run on Sunday 26th November over 2400m at Tokyo’s famous racecourse.
Trainer Chris Waller when asked about the nomination said “It is highly unlikely she would travel but we’ve nominated as a precaution.”
Although it remains very unlikely that Winx will make the trip to Tokyo for the running of the race to give those who would like to see her race overseas some hope, her regular jockey Hugh Bowman will already be riding in Japan at the time.

Other notable horses entered for the race are Big Duke, Bonneval, John Snow, Wicklow Brave, Max Dynamite and Highland Reel.
