Juddmonte Farms have confirmed that a scan has revealed that the brilliant champion mare Enable is ‘in foal’ to Kingman.
Enable won fifteen out of nineteen race starts, including 11-Group 1 wins, two of which came in the prestigious Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (G1).
Such was the glow that surrounded Enable’s racing career that, when she was retired in October 2020, ace jockey Frankie Dettori, who partnered Enable in all of her Group 1 wins, admitted that he cried when he heard the news of her retirement … but he was quick to qualify that admission, adding, “… I did have a cry when I was told, but more of joy than sadness because of all the great memories she gave me.”
Thousands of true racing enthusiasts would have had similar fond memories of Enable at that time as she moved on to start another stage of her career in the racing world … and it was Kingman who awaited her in the breeding barn.
Kingman only raced as a two-year-old and a three-year-old before being retired to stud with a race record of seven wins from eight starts and the title of Champion Three-Year-Old Miler in Europe for 2014. Four of those wins were in Group 1 company.
Kingman has been making his name as a stallion of importance since then.

When it happens, the arrival of their first foal will come with as keen a sense of anticipation as there can be in the breeding world.
While there are no certainties or any guarantees on the racetrack or from the breeding barn, Juddmonte Farms could not have done more in trying to align the stars to produce a star.
So far, so good.
