31/7/2021 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Eagle Farm

A nine race card has been assembled for Eagle Farm on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

13 Champagne Aunty (Bet Now: $1.90) looks to have returned well for Steve Tregea. Trialled up well on her home track at Toowoomba prior to resuming over 1400m here two weeks ago. Market liked her at odds and the mini plunge almost came off. Just couldn’t quite get past Dreamreacher in a tight go. Good second up record and stable is flying.

4 Baanone (Bet Now: $4.80) should love the rise to the mile. Has had a couple of runs for the Sears camp but looks to be enjoying life at Toowoomba. Narrow second over 1400m at the Sunny Coast last time when pipped by East Asia, an in form mare, so I think that reads well for this.

6 Mountbatten (Bet Now: $9.50) is yet to prove himself beyond 1350m but is racing like the mile will be okay for him. Desleigh Forster trained gelding that ran over 1350m here last time out and worked to the line pretty well without really threatening, but he’s racing like a step up in trip will suit and he gets that here.

3 Warp Speed (Bet Now: $4.50) should love the rise in trip for Rob Heathcoate. On the quick back up after racing last Saturday in what was more or less a barrier trial for him. He was back and never really a winning factor but liked the way he finished off. He’s flying and is hard to beat.

1 London Banker (Bet Now: $2.80) is racing as if he will eat up the 2200m. Kelly Schweida trained five year old that ran over 1800m here two weeks ago and worked home strongly, just missing out on the win when second to Tears Of Love. 2200m is fine for him and rates highly against these.

7 Puckish (Bet Now: $21.00) is a three year old that takes on the older horses but is racing really well at the moment. Put together a couple of strong wins on the bounce at Kilcoy before going to Toowoomba when back in the run and closing off strongly when second to Honey Baby. Not sure he wins, but a first four threat.

8 Luna Mia (Bet Now: $3.90) looks ready to win. Paul Messara trained mare that was facing D-Day when racing here two weeks ago but the market loved her, into $6.50 from $13+ and the plunge almost came off when a fast finishing second to Sea Raider. Off that effort, she’ll take beating here.

14 Genuine Al (Bet Now: $6.00) deserves a crack at Saturday metro level. Bit of quality I thought about his win at the Gold Coast a fortnight back. Lobbed into a lovely spot under Callow and once he got into clear air, away he went and he was dominant. Think he can measure up.

1 Take Tea (Bet Now: $18.00) is the class runner of the field and back to 72 grade, with the 3kg claim, gee she gets in well. Resumed over 1200m at Doomben three weeks back. Paraded like she would need the run and that is how it panned out behind Snowzone. She’ll take good improvement off that and likes racing here.

Good little race for the juveniles here. Landed with 7 Finsceal (Bet Now: $8.50). Few weeks between runs since an electric debut win at the Sunny Coast when charging from near last in the run to get up and win, beating Hinged, who has since won twice at Saturday metro level, so the form is strong. Hopefully can use gate one.

1 Alpine Edge (Bet Now: $3.50) is the class runner of the field and that will carry him a long way towards victory. Put together two wins on the bounce to start his career before a game second in the Magic Millions. Then went to the Todman and didn’t fire behind Anamoe, who is a star. Trials have been strong and has the early toe to overcome the gate.

13 Enterprise Pomme (Bet Now: $6.50) lacks the class of some of these but all you can do is win and that is what she has done so far, winning on debut here in good style. Was well backed and the move was proven correct, leading throughout and she was dominant. Harder here, but has the right racing pattern.

10 Hey Big Splenda (Bet Now: $4.80) is a talented animal for the Edmonds that should be better for the resumption at Ipswich. He was back near last in the run and worked home well without threatening when second to Sweet Rhapsody. Fitter and up to 1300m, he’ll take beating against this lot.

7 Bundyandcoke (Bet Now: $11.00) looks hard to beat for Trevor Miller. First run for the camp came over 1200m here two weeks ago and I loved the way he closed off from near last in the run when fourth to Red Barista. Showed really good promise last prep and looks to be in for a good campaign again.

1 Boom Spender (Bet Now: $23.00) is one I can include in wider multiples. Ran over 1200m here a fortnight back and on paper, the run was just fair behind Red Barista, but not sure he was entirely suited by the race shape. Getting towards peak fitness now and is a proven city performer.

11 Relucent (Bet Now: $4.00) is bursting to win a race for Chris Waller and I think he gets a golden chance here. His recent racing has come in Melbourne in some tidy races and he’s been around the mark for the most part. Interesting he comes back in trip but will be strong at the end.

Bruce Hill has a progressive galloper on his hands in the shape of 1 Alatar (Bet Now: $8.00). He has won his past two over the mile at Eagle Farm and Doomben respectively, the Doomben win coming just over two weeks ago. He should eat up 1800m and looks quite clearly one of the hardest to beat.

12 Sokudo (Bet Now: $23.00) should appreciate a rise in trip. Les Kelly trained gelding that ran over the mile during the Grafton Carnival and worked home with real purpose late in the piece when third. He’s racing like he wants more ground, which he gets here, so he’s a key chance.

10 Je Suis Belle (Bet Now: $5.00) just has to run the 1200m out and she’ll look the winner for a fair chunk of this race. Resumed over 1000m here two weeks ago. Wide no cover but pressed forward on speed and she fought on very well in defeat behind Shooting For Gold. That form reads quite well for this.

3 Elixir (Bet Now: $17.00) is a Les Kelly trained gelding that resumes. This guy hasn’t raced since May 5 when contesting the Goldmarket at the Gold Coast, finishing down the track behind Baller, who went right on with it in the Winter. Likes Eagle Farm, has trialled well and can sprint well fresh.

6 Ditmas (Bet Now: $26.00) is third up from a break and is just about at peak fitness. To my eye, he has just needed the runs under the belt to start the prep, both runs coming here where he has loomed but tired late. Third up, hard fit now and does have a liking for Eagle Farm, so not dismissing him.

7 Profit (Bet Now: $6.00) has a real liking for Eagle Farm, so returning back to the track, I’ll be with him. Few weeks between runs before contesting the Glasshouse at the Sunny Coast when far from disgraced in defeat behind King Of Hastings. Gets in pretty well at the weights and back to Eagle Farm, he can bounce back.

3 Boomsara (Bet Now: $7.50) had been around the mark in search of a win this time in and it came here a fortnight back over 1200m. Loved the way he dug in when required and really lifted late under Huxtable. Like him back up in trip and appeals as one of the key contenders.

6 Matowi (Bet Now: $4.80) is flying for Chris Waller and I think he proves hard to beat. One soft trial leading into his resumption here two weeks ago. Loomed to win and beat Boomsara but that horse had hard fitness under the belt and I think in the end, that was the difference. Fitter and up to 1400m, he can win.

If last start hasn’t busted her, 3 Lady Banff (Bet Now: $8.00) is the one to beat. Matty Dunn trained filly that was three and four wide no cover when racing over 1200m here two weeks ago. Despite that torrid run, she loomed to win and was only nabbed the final few strides by Red Barista. Off that, 1300m here should be no issue and she rates highly.

2 Bad Barista (Bet Now: $8.00) has done little wrong in her career to date for Rex Lipp. Lovely ride from Marshall saw her win here a fortnight back, getting a suck run behind the pack before peeling wider into clear air and letting down hard, nabbing them near the peg. Extra 100m is fine and she’s very genuine.

6 Bellissimi Amici (Bet Now: $20.00) should just about be at peak fitness for Rob Heathcoate. Ran in the Bad Barista race from a fortnight ago. She was back in the run and failed to come on, but she was a few weeks between runs and paraded like she needed the run. Her best is good enough.
