My Oberon has secured the final wildcard entry into this year’s All Star Mile. The highly-anticipated race is set to take place on March 19th at The Valley racecourse in Melbourne.
My Oberon, previously trained by William Haggas, made a statement on his Australian debut by winning the Crystal Mile at The Valley on Cox Plate day in 2022. Following his impressive win, he then went on to finish sixth in the Cantala at Flemington. In the recent Group 1 Futurity Stakes at Sandown, My Oberon returned to racing and finished six lengths behind the winner, Alligator Blood.
Trainer Annabel Neasham has two runners in the race, with Laws of Indices also receiving a wildcard on Monday night. My Oberon’s inclusion in the race adds another level of excitement, as he has already proven his skills on the track. The audience can expect a captivating display of racing skills and tactics from all the participating horses.
Peter Moody-trained Pounding, Laws Of Indices, and New Zealander Aegon were also announced as wildcards on Monday night. In addition, Chris Waller-trained Fangirl joined the race as the first emergency following Jacquinot’s withdrawal.
The All Star Mile is known for attracting the best horses in Australia, and this year’s event is no exception. The competition promises to be fierce, and My Oberon’s inclusion only adds to the excitement. Racing fans around the country will be eagerly anticipating the race and looking forward to seeing which horse will emerge victorious.
