I Wish I Win, who finished last in The Everest, has come through the race without any major injury, according to trainer and part-owner Peter Moody. X-rays on the horse’s off fore-leg, knees, fetlocks, and feet revealed no significant issues, despite some initial concern. “He’s a little bit jarry in his off fore-leg,” Moody shared, but the vet’s assessments showed no serious problems.
Moody, after consulting with co-owner Mark Chittick, has decided to give I Wish I Win a well-earned spell, with plans to prepare him for a potential autumn racing campaign in 2025. However, the horse’s future remains uncertain. “If he tells us he wants to still be there, we will push on… if he suggests he’s come to the end of his career, we wouldn’t hesitate to retire him,” Moody said.
I Wish I Win has enjoyed a stellar career, earning over $12 million and claiming two Group 1 victories, among other top finishes.
