Asian Beau Stakes 🏆: View the Field and Odds for the Asian Beau Stakes
Race 1. (15:24) Tabtouch - Westspeed Platinum (Rs0ly) 1600m
3 Pull The Trigger (Bet Now: $2.50) seems the straight bat play in the opener. He won over 1400m here two weeks ago, getting the sweet sit in transit before angling clear and knuckled down best to win and win well. He’s racing like 1600m suits and this race is no harder vs last time.
4 Date Withthe Devil (Bet Now: $4.80) should appreciate a rise to the mile after racing behind Pull The Trigger a fortnight back, getting back but kept chasing and found the line well enough in defeat behind Pull The Trigger. Mile is ideal, she’ll be within range and can finish over the top.
7 Allaboutthecraic (Bet Now: $23.00) drops a fair bit in depth after racing two weeks back at this track/distance when off the speed and she tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Arcadia Knight. Back to this level, I say she’s a knockout hope.
Race 2. (16:04) Wittens Irrigation & Design (Rs1mw) 2200m
8 Lord Randolph (Bet Now: $2.25) rises in grade/depth, but he’s progressive, in a good camp, with Pike on, and looks well placed. He was dominant last Wednesday at Belmont, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance. That was over 2200m, he has that run under the belt…hard to beat I say.
2 Choice Thinking (Bet Now: $8.50) has found winning form and I say commands respect. He won over 2100m last Wednesday where he got into a decent spot off the speed before coming with a well timed run and finished best to win and win well. Confident he can measure up in what looks a thin contest.
5 Lead By Example (Bet Now: $7.00) is a capable mare that is a knockout hope. She ran behind Lord Randolph last Wednesday at Belmont where she got back to near last in the run and while she did make up some ground, she was never really a threat. If she can settle closer and be within range, she’s dangerous for sure.
Race 3. (16:49) Quayclean (Rs1mw) 1500m
4 Stormageddon (Bet Now: $8.50) has done little wrong this time in for Michael Grantham and rates highly. He ran over the mile here two weeks ago and kept finding the line from off the speed but seemingly had his chance when fourth to Arcadia Knight. Back in trip I don’t mind, gets in well after the claim…hard to beat in a winnable race.
5 Amjaad (Bet Now: $4.60) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. She ran over 1400m here last time out when on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Count The Sessions. Hard fit now and I think with a bunny to chase, she’ll be more effective.
8 Zackariah Beau (Bet Now: $46.00) is in with a shout at a big price. He ran behind Arcadia Knight two weeks back. He got back to near last in the run and worked home well without threatening in a good effort I thought. Hard fit now, can settle closer in the run and still be effective at the end. Knockout hope.
Race 4. (17:24) Drummond Golf (Bm66+) 1800m
2 Decoration (Bet Now: $5.00) is a beauty for Team Pearce and seems the straight bat play. He ran over this track/distance three weeks ago where he got near the speed and tried his guts out but just found one better in Great Fortune. Maps perfect again, genuine, hard fit and in form…he’ll do me.
6 Grand Reserve (Bet Now: $16.00) has to be given another chance after racing here a fortnight back where he was on speed throughout and tried hard but the last 250m, he stopped badly. Something was amiss and the vet confirmed with him having an elevated heart rate. He can bounce back for sure.
12 Rock In Wonder (Bet Now: $7.50) is progressive and heading in the right direction with two wins on the bounce, leading throughout to win a Bunbury maiden before going here where he did much the same and was impressive at the midweeks. Harder here, but confident he can measure up.
Race 5. (18:04) Selangor Turf Club Trophy (Bm72+) 1000m
3 The Boss Lady (Bet Now: $7.50) brings class and I’ll bank on that class getting her home first up. She hasn’t raced since June 22 when down the track in the Belmont Guineas, failing to see out the mile. To me, she seems more a sprinter so 1000m is a good kick off point and with class, she takes beating for mine.
1 Capital Flight (Bet Now: $6.50) should land in a plum spot from the inside gate and be hard to beat after contesting the Crawford two weeks ago when off the speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort behind Bravo Centurion. Back to this level, gets Pike on, he’s clearly likeable.
9 Kings Honour (Bet Now: $7.00) is a son of King’s Troop that is second up after resuming two weeks back at this track/distance. He did a bit too much work on speed and just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Crippalenko. Better run in transit, he is good enough.
Race 6. (18:44) Placid Ark Prelude 1000m
I think you have to give 8 Golden Kathleen (Bet Now: $12.00) another chance. Market said she was there to run well when resuming in the Max Simmonds two weeks ago but after getting a suck run on the fence, she didn’t quite finish the race off and was a bit on the plain side. Think drawn out, with room to move and wind up, I think she can take this out.
2 Sinful Living (Bet Now: $5.00) has to be given serious respect. She comes back to her own age after racing against the older horses in the Crawford when on speed and she tried her guts out but just lacked the quality to go with them late in the piece. If there is petrol left in the tank, she’ll be a leading contender.
7 Golden Vale (Bet Now: $13.00) is one to be entertained for exotics. She ran in the Max Simmonds two weeks back when leading and giving a decent enough kick but first up, condition just gave way late in the piece. Better for the run and with a bunny to chase, I think she’ll be far more effective.
Race 7. (19:19) Prince Of Wales Stakes 1000m
8 Bravo Centurion (Bet Now: $2.10) steps up to WFA but he’s a short course beast for Luke Fernie and it’s hard to get away from him. Had to cop heat on speed to lead in the Crawford two weeks ago but credit to him, he was there to be run down but he found under pressure to fend them off and get the win. Good test here, but with his racing style, he’s going to take beating.
3 Saloon Bar (Bet Now: $3.90) commands respect. He ran second to Bravo Centurion in the Crawford a fortnight back, landing back near last but came with a strong finale, just missing out on the win when beaten narrowly. Good speed one again in front, he can get back and charge at them late.
4 Snowdome (Bet Now: $6.00) is a Neville Parnham trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since the Rock Magic during the Autumn when down the track behind Wild Belle. Interesting he resumes without a public trial but maps perfect, he’ll be strong late and has class when right.
Race 8. (19:57) Asian Beau Stakes 1400m
I think we are going to see a statement here via 15 Yonga Lass (Bet Now: $6.00) with eyes towards the Railway. She needs to win this to get into the Railway and I think she will win this weekend. She is a very good mare that resumes and had a light Winter prep, with the Summer in mind, a formula Team Williams has used to perfection for the Railway previously. Trial work has been enormous, Pike is on…keen.
2 Super Smink (Bet Now: $3.10) is well and truly back on track I say. Her two runs back from a spell have been very sharp, the latest being a fortnight back in the Eurythmic when back near last in the run but launched late to just miss out on picking up Comfort Me. If she can settle closer in the run and be within range, she takes beating.
3 Zipaway (Bet Now: $8.00) is an interesting runner. He resumes for Neville Parnham, having not raced since the Alister Clark at The Valley during the Autumn when placing behind Antrim Coast in a good effort. Given a good break, trialled well and has class/quality. Watch the market.
Race 9. (20:34) Mrs Mac's (Bm66+) 1200m
4 Malkar Pindari (Bet Now: $6.50) looks the straight bat play for Simon Miller. She resumed over 1000m here two weeks ago when off the speed and kept chasing from the back, closing hard to just miss out on picking up Crippalenko. Has a gate to settle much closer, good upside and the rise to 1200m is ideal. Hard to beat.
1 Live To Tell (Bet Now: $9.00) has class on her side and that class is going to carry her a long way towards victory. She ran a fortnight back in the Crawford and while held late by Bravo Centurion, she didn’t disgrace herself in defeat, beaten under two lengths. Back to this grade, she appeals.
12 Wubin Gold (Bet Now: $9.50) is dangerous if she can be within range. She got a mile out of her ground over this track/distance three weeks back where she got back to near last in the run but closed off with real purpose late in the piece behind Cosmic Crusader. If she can get luck from the gate, she’ll take beating.
