After a stint in Hong Kong, Global Harmony has returned to his former home and is set to kick off his latest campaign at Pakenham.

The Lindsay Park team of Ben, Will and J D Hayes have not seen the barrier antics of Global Harmony that had the gelding banished from Hong Kong.

A former Lindsay Park galloper before heading to Hong Kong to be prepared by David Hayes, Global Harmony won two of his 14 starts in the Asian racing mecca.

But after two starts where he decided to not jump with the field, Global Harmony was returned to Australia and his former home.

With those barrier antics looking as though they have been ironed out, Global Harmony, who raced as Pagan before heading to Hong Kong, is set for his return outing in the David Bourke Memorial (1400m) at Pakenham on Saturday.

Will Hayes said Global Harmony had been given two jump-outs, at Wodonga and Wangaratta, and a trial at Traralgon in preparation for his return.

He said the team had to trust Global Harmony having spent time with the gelding previously, although they did send him to Shaun Nolen for some remedial work.

“We had him before he went to Hong Kong, so we trusted him a lot,” Hayes said.

“We did send him to Shaun Nolan, who is an incredible horseman. He does an incredible job with a lot of our horses that we like to tinker with.

“He only had him for a short amount of time and said he was good to go, so with his touch, we go to the races with a lot of confidence.”

Global Harmony scored at Sandown before he was shipped off to Hong Kong and in his time in the Asian mecca won twice and was placed on another five occasions.

Hayes said Global Harmoney had enjoyed paddock time at Lindsay Park, being a ‘horse’ again.

“We’ve kept him in a very strict routine at the farm,” Hayes said.

“He’s a horse that also really thrives getting out of the day paddock and getting his head down on grass and being a horse.

“You never know what’s going to present on race day, but we think if he puts his best foot forward, he should be a very good chance.”
