Group 1 racing returns to Victoria this Saturday with the $750,000 Memsie Stakes at Caulfield, featuring a star-studded clash between Mr Brightside and Pride Of Jenni. The much-anticipated race will see a small but quality field, including Queenslander Antino, PB Lawrence winner Gentleman Roy, and Moonga Stakes quinella horses Aegon and Bandersnatch.
Last year’s Feehan Stakes winner Pinstriped is a possible starter, while Godolphin’s Pericles is expected to bypass the Memsie in favour of the So You Think Stakes at Moonee Valley next Saturday.
Notably, Another Wil, a rising star, will be in action at Caulfield but in a Benchmark 100 Handicap, where he’ll be joined by South Australian Derby winner Coco Sun.
Pride Of Jenni ois the $2.40 slight favourite with betting apps in early markets ahead of Mr Brightside at $2.80.
