Mirjulisa Lass has stormed to a surprise victory in the Group One Vinery Stud Stakes at Rosehill.
Ridden by Corey Brown, the Greg Hickman-trained Danasinga filly was given a lovely inside run on Saturday and sat just off the leaders before hitting the lead shortly after straightening for home.
She had the race in the bag 300 metres out and went on to score comfortably from Fibrillation with favourite Brazilian Pulse third after being caught wide throughout.
Brown was delighted with the performance from Mirjulisa Lass who will now head to the Group One AJC Australian Oaks at Randwick in two weeks.
“The track’s in perfect condition and I just stayed along the fence and took the shortcuts,” Brown said.
“Once I pushed the button her acceleration and turn of foot was unbelievable.”
