Lightly-raced mare Zingaling has notched her second stakes win in the Birthday Card Stakes at Rosehill with the promise of more to come.
A veteran of just 12 starts, Zingaling won the PJ Bell almost a year ago and trainer Kris Lees said he had a three-race plan mapped out.
“She will go to the Sapphire Stakes in a couple of weeks, the Darley Crown at Hawkesbury and the Dark Jewel at Scone,” Lees said.
“She’s had a couple of little setbacks and we have given her a couple of trials before racing her this time.
“She is a tough honest mare who always gives her best.”
Kiss From A Rose started the $3.20 favourite and but was never in a rhythm and finished midfield with the battle on up front.
Zingaling ($11) prevailed over Ladys Angel ($7) by a short neck with the same margin to third placegetter Flying Success ($16).
The Birthday Card was the final race on Rosehill Guineas day which was attended by 9325 people.
The feature race was won in spectacular style by New Zealander Jimmy Choux who is now the short-priced favourite for next month’s AJC Australian Derby.
