The protest on the Melbourne Cup has cost a student a $100,000 first dour payout as stewards relegated Master Of Reality from second to fourth.
The student posted his bet on Twitter which showed his $1 first four bet on numbers 23/3/12/20 which were the numbers of the first four horses past the post however stewards filed a protest on the race with 4th vs 2nd which was eventually upheld changing the numbers to 23/12/20/3 thus costing the student the $100,000 jackpot on the race.
The student posted a tweet saying “Just got out of a uni exam to find my first four has lost on protest and I’ve missed out on the 100K jackpot Any chance of a little justice payout @tabcomau” along with a screenshot of his bet.
