Bet One- Win- Cranbourne Race One Number 9 Hasabro:
This looks rather straight forward to my eye. Hasabro is a Stephen McKee trained colt who is heading down the Derby path but would need to win this to warrant heading there. Slapped in betting when making his Australian debut over 1755m at Geelong but had no luck at all in the straight when seemingly full of running. Just needs normal luck and he’ll win.
Suggested Bet: $100 Win at $6 (Bet365)
Bet Two- Win- Cessnock Race One Number 12 Ultimate Power:
Looks a lovely race for this gelding. Kris Lees trains him, who has had two career outings and has placed each start, starting on debut at Tuncurry before going to Port Macquarie where he was quite good in defeat behind Shark Alley. Blinkers on, lovely draw and the wet track should be no issue for him.
Suggested Bet: $30 Win at $4 (Sportsbet)
Bet Three- Win- Cessnock Race Eight Number 5 Time Raid:
Nice type this. Won with a touch of class and authority on debut at Tuncurry before going to Newcastle over 1500m, a clear class rise, but he handled it well, only going down late. I think getting back onto a wet track will help his cause and he’ll be out of trouble on speed, which is usually the spot to be at Cessnock.
Suggested Bet: $50 Win (Tote)
Bet Four- Each Way- Grafton Race Five Number 6 Just A Dame:
This mare is flying for Todd Payne but she can’t quite crack it for a win. I think she gets her chance here. Ran against the bias last time at Armidale and made up a stack of ground to run second behind Rock The World, who was heavily backed and got a soft time of it on speed. Just needs normal luck and I’m sure she’ll go close.
Suggested Bet: $20 Win/$30 Place at $6/$1.9 (Sportsbet)
Bet Five- Win- Townsville Race Two Number 3 Forgive Me:
The only negative is the seemingly lack of tempo, otherwise he’s an odds on chance. He’s flying for Leslie Gordy and comes back to 1400m after bolting up over the mile last time, proving strongest and running to the line and through it with purpose. He’ll be the strongest at the end…just wants speed in front.
Suggested Bet: $30 Win at $4.2 (BetEasy)
Total Spend: $260
