Hawkesbury
$45 Win Multaja R5 @ $2.25 (TAB)
$25 Win Obelos R6 @ $4.4 (BetEasy)
$10 Win/$20 Place Sea Spirit R7 @ $26/$6 (TAB)
Hawkesbury Overview:
Three horses I’m keen on at the metro meeting at Hawkesbury. I think Multaja is easy to risk on one hand, but on the other, she’s got blacktype ability and is just better than these. I think the reason you’re getting black figures and not $1.50 is because of the unknown on wet ground and she hasn’t won in a while. But really, she should be too good. Obelos is a former French galloper that makes his Australian debut for Chris Waller. He is likely to be better suited over further, but the Rosehill trial looked pretty good to the eye and has already been well supported. Happy to jump on. The horse at silly odds for mine is Sea Spirit. Bear in mind that Amanigirl is nominated for Saturday and Friday night, so potentially comes out and the price will be gone, but have to take a slice of $26. His run behind Classique Legend first up on the Kensington track was full of merit I thought in an unsuitable race. Wet track should be fine and the 3kg claim for Billy Owen certainly helps his chances.
Sandown
$100 Win Skyway Star R2 @ $5 (BetEasy)
Sandown Overview:
Could go down the provincial form path, or do you go with a filly who was four lengths off Aristia in the Wakeful, which is the last start of Skyway Star, who resumes for the Symon Wilde stable. She had three runs in the Spring to start her career, ending on Derby Day where she was outclassed but far from disgraced in an excellent form race. She’s had two jumpouts to prepare for her resumption, the latest at Camperdown, and she closed off very well. Stable finds D Oliver to ride, soft gate…I’m really keen on her running well.
