Gosford Overview:
Mornington looks a complete nightmare outside Clarice Cliffs, who looks the good thing of the day but no spoils with the price, so I’ll look at Gosford. Modernity debuts for Bjorn Baker and she absolutely bolted in at Warwick Farm in a trial recently, winning by over five lengths. Always on guard with these Bjorn Baker first starters, because they either win or run poorly. Hoping it’s the former. Stone Cold is a very tough country sprinter who lumped 64kg first up at Cowra and was there to win with 150m to go but just felt the pinch late. First run in 14 weeks so he should improve off that and tumbles 7kg in weight. Just looks one at silly odds. Lagarde is a nine start maiden with eight placings next to her name, so the non winner tag is nearly hers to have, but she has contested some decent races throughout her career, including the Magic Millions Maiden last time when a closing third to Terminology. Draws much better, less depth…surprising she has drifted in early betting.
