A punter with the TAB has placed a big bet of $10,000 on a $26 chance to win the 2019 Melbourne Cup.
The TAB punter has placed $10,000 on Surprise Baby at odds of $26 to win the 2019 Melbourne Cup on November 5th at Flemington racecourse.
”The $10,000 wager on Surprise Baby is easily the biggest bet TAB has received on the winner of the 2019 Melbourne Cup,” TAB’s Trent Langskaill said.
“On September 25, one TAB customer placed a $4,000 bet at $13 on the current Melbourne Cup favourite Finche, which would result in a potential $48,000 profit.”
Surprise Baby will need to win Saturday’s G2 Bart Cummings to gain an entry into the Melbourne Cup Field as he was narrowly beaten in the Andrew Ramsden Stakes which would have given the Adelaide Cup winner a ballot exempt entry into the race.
