Punters think the Cox Plate is a two horse race
The Cox Plate (2040m) is shaping up to be a match race between Winx and Hartnell, and while the great mare has had support, it has been Hartnell that has been best backed with Sportsbet.com.au to win the WFA championship of Australia.
The last start Turnbull Stakes (2000m) winner opened $3.20 after the barrier draw and eased to $3.30, and that’s when the punters stepped in, backing him into $3.00. That has seen Winx ease back to $1.90 after touching $1.85.
Class mare Lucia Valentina got to a silly price of $21 after the barrier draw and has trimmed up to $19, while Yankee Rose has eased slightly to $15 after opening $14.
