Following a favourable barrier draw compared to her highly fancied rivals, Exhilarates (barrier 9 of 21) has tightened from $6 to $5.50 favourite with TAB for Saturday’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic on the Gold Coast.
Unite And Conquer (barrier 18) – who was the $5 favourite before the barrier draw – is now sharing the second line of betting at $6 with Dubious (barrier 7) who was $7 immediately after the barriers were determined.
Czarson (barrier 15) was $5.50 before the barrier draw and is now a $7 hope while Yes Yes Yes has drifted from $6 to $7.50 after drawing the outsider barrier of 21.
“Exhilarates – who was $15 before winning last Saturday – has fared well at the barrier draw and it is understandable why she has become favourite considering recent history in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic,” TAB’s Glenn Munsie said.
“Le Chef (2015), Houtzen (2017) and Sunlight (last year) all won the week before at Gold Coast before taking out the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and in 2016, there was no meeting held at Gold Coast.”
In the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas, Outback Barbie (barrier 3) has shortened as TAB favourite from $2.80 to $2.60 while Boomsara has eased from $4 to $4.80 after drawing horribly in barrier 18 of 21.
