Cessnock
$100 Win Lucitor R3 @ $1.7 (Sportsbet)
Cessnock Overview:
Potential egg on the face but I think you’re getting $1.70 about a genuine $1.20-$1.30 chance. He’s just better than these with the upside he’s got and the way he’s going. Ran over the mile at Tamworth last time where he took a while to wind up but the last 100-200m was the best part of the race. He’ll eat up a staying trip and there is just no depth to this field. Should get his maiden win out of the way.
Moruya
$100 Win Bella Amante R5 @ $4.6 (BetEasy)
Moruya Overview:
Bella Amante is a Joseph Ible trained mare who trialled up okay prior to resuming in the Randwick Highway from three weeks ago where I thought she found the line okay late in the piece behind Gumshoe. Think firmer footing will be right up her alley and is a second up winner. I think $4.60 for her v $2.80 Revitup Rednut, much prefer to be with Bella Amante at the prices.
Murtoa
$100 Win Gigantic Effort R3 @ $3.6 (Sportsbet)
Murtoa Overview:
Looks a dead set race in two between this bloke and Rock Tycoon. It’s well documented that Rock Tycoon is a milk drinker and has turned it up on several occasions, so good luck if you’re willing to take the $1.50 for him. $3.60 for Gigantic Effort looks more than acceptable IMO. He was a standout at the recent set of trials at St Arnaud, leading throughout and bolting up under a really good hold. Time was just fair for the morning, but the manner in which he did it, he looks a nice type. Has the gate to use his early speed and I think the market gap is just far too great.
