The majority of TAB punters expect Tasmanian mare Mystic Journey to extend her winning streak to eight races as she is currently a $2 favourite at TAB to win tomorrow’s Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington.
During this afternoon, one wager of $40,000 at $2.20 was placed on the Adam Trinder-trained mare to salute tomorrow for a potential collect of $88,000.
About an hour later, a larger bet of $61,000 at $2.10 was plonked on Mystic Journey, which would result in a payday of $128,100.
“The retirement of Winx has bigger punters searching for another star of the turf to stake their hard earned on and Mystic Journey could fill the void left by the four-time Cox Plate winner,” TAB’s Trent Langskaill said.
“Since the final field was confirmed on Wednesday, 80 percent of TAB support has been on this year’s Australian Guineas and inaugural All-Star Mile winner to be victorious over the mile at Flemington tomorrow.”
Mystic Journey is currently the $4.40 favourite at TAB to win the 2019 Cox Plate at Moonee Valley on October 26.
