Le Melody is favourite for the Sir James Kirby Quality

Noted speed demon Le Melody is favourite with Ladbrokes.com.au for the get out at Grafton this afternoon, the Sir James Kirby (1000m).

The feature sprint race is traditionally the closer on Cup Day and it has attracted a strong field again, headlined by the Cody Morgan trained sprinter, who was beaten as a $1.20 favourite on this day last year. She has been well backed to win this afternoon, into $2.60 after opening $4.00.

Remlaps Gem is on the second line of betting at $3.60, in from $5.50. They have a good hold on the market, with next best being the resuming Classy Jaybee at $8.00. He is the only other runner at single figures.
