2024 Memsie Stakes Speed Map

Looks pretty straight forward here. Pride Of Jenni should lead and lead for fun. But with that being the case, she’ll give the cart over to Gentleman Roy, who will likely have a similar run to what he did fresh in the PB Lawrence. Bandersnatch holds a spot from the gate, and sitting outside him should be Mr Brightside.

2024 Memsie Stakes Runner Preview:

1. Mr Brightside: Mr Brightside was a superb winner of this race last year and commands respect. He would have hated seeing the back of Pride Of Jenni in the Autumn, but despite being held by that mare more often than not, he was so game in defeat, including the Queen Elizabeth. His jumpout work has been strong enough to say he’ll run a beauty here.

2. Aegon: Loves the track/distance and he was unlucky not to be in the finish in the PB Lawrence, getting badly held up at a crucial stage when building the revs. Maps to do no work in terms of the gate…just depends if he has to be chasing from a fair way out. But, a must for exotics.

3. Gentleman Roy: Gentleman Roy went within a lip of winning a Group l last year and he is the one here who is treating this as a Grand Final. Loved the ticker he showed to win the PB Lawrence. Yes, can argue Pinstriped should have beaten him, but this guy really dug in when required. Good racing style and he looks as though he’ll love the race shape Pride Of Jenni will provide.

4. Bandersnatch: Resumed in the Regal Roller and had a suck run in transit. Tried hard but was held late behind Arkansaw Kid. Better suited at 1400m but he’s not up to these IMO.

5. Pinstriped: He was the most obvious unlucky runner in the PB Lawrence given he was wide, wanted to lay and really, threw the race away. He maps much better this time around…but how much did that resumption take out of him? And is he up to these? I say no.

6. Antino: I got Via Sistina badly wrong last week and I’ll go again this week and say that Antino is a big chunk in the market that can be ignored. He is talented, but I am not sure he is that good to be honest. Yes, jumped out well alongside Pride Of Jenni, but when he has stepped up against the big boys, he hasn’t measured up. I think he’s way too short.

7. Pride Of Jenni: Pride Of Jenni is a star mare and I think she’s here to rock and roll. She was the find last season, going from a good solid mare to being a top class, out of this world mare, with her jump/run racing style bringing in new race fans to the track, her Queen Elizabeth win being memorable. She has looked outstanding in jumpout work at Cranbourne, she’ll lead and take a power of beating.

8. Vagrant: Reckon she is sneaky flying this horse but this looks a bridge way too far.

2024 Memsie Stakes $100 Betting Strategy:

Keeping it simple and having $100 Win Top Fluc on Pride Of Jenni.
