One punter faces a nervous wait ahead of Friday night’s Moir Stakes (1000m) after placing a $56,000 bet on a runner that’s gone on to draw a wide barrier.
The TAB punter placed the sizable bet on Russian Revolution on Tuesday, a day before the final field and barriers were confirmed for the Moonee Valley feature.
When the field was released on Wednesday morning Russian Revolution had drawn barrier 14 in theΒ 13-capacity field. Meaning he is likely to be posted in the 1000m scamper.
However despite the wide draw Russian Revolution has been the best backed runner since final field markets opened.
The TeamΒ Snowden-trained four year old was at $3.30 in the all-in market yesterday but has shortened to $2.90 today.
