Punters heavily back one in the JRA Trophy

Cormorant is a firmer with Ladbrokes.com.au for one of the feature races at Flemington this afternoon, the JRA Trophy (2600m).

The Maddie Raymond trained gelding has steadily improved with each run this time in and looks suited at 2600m for the assignment this afternoon and the market likes him. Opened $6.50 and has been well tried, now into $4.20.

Favourite for the race is Persan, who is the class runner of the field, and is rock solid in betting at $2.70. The second line of betting is held by Pakenham Cup runner up, who is at $3.50 and hasn’t budged since markets opened on Wednesday.
