Sunshine Coast trainer Garnett Taylor does not come to Rockhampton to lose. In fact, the trainer has put together 10 wins from 25 starts at the track in season 2017/18, his strike rate at the track among the most prolific for any trainer at any track in the country.
Taylor will look to improve on his monstrous 40% hit rate as he travels with just the one runner, Bold Endeavour to be ridden by the reliable Justin Stanley in the Higgins Coatings QTIS Three-Years-Old Handicap over 1200m, the 5th event on the program.
Aided by the scratching of stable-mate Bold Xavvi, the stars seem to align here for the top-weight and barring the lethal trainer-jockey combination at hand, Bold Endeavour brings with him an impressive record at the track as well as undeniable class, which includes consecutive placings at Doomben and Sunshine Coast as of late, headlined by a current record that reads 4 wins from 16 starts amassing $138,875 in prize money.
Currently in a league of his own in terms of success at the track this season, Garnett Taylor’s near 1 in 2 strike rate has plenty of lengths on challengers Shane Sigvart (26.47%), Fred Smith (24.32%) and leading trainer Tom Button (16.42%).
Along with just the one runner going to Rockhampton, Taylor has 2 nominations for the Townsville meet on Thursday with Miss Miao and Bold Sensation, before looking to make it a North Queensland white-wash when he heads to Mackay with Bold As Ice on Saturday.
