Hot favourite Via Sistina has firmed further with TAB for the Queen Elizabeth Stakes following the barrier draws for Saturday’s Group One races at Randwick.
Via Sistina drew barrier one and was trimmed from $1.90 into $1.80, while Dubai Honour drew gate 13 but remains at $6 and Ceolwulf drifted from $11 to $13 with barrier 15.
TAB’s Gerard Daffy said there was immediate interest in the favourite following the draw.
“Via Sistina’s already been backed into $1.80 after several bets of note, including a $2200 outlay at $1.90,” Daffy said.
“This follows the strong interest before the final field was confirmed where she held close to 75 per cent of total outlays in the All In market, headlined by multiple $5000 bets at $1.70.
“How the week trends will be interesting, but already Fangirl is shaping as the value option that punters have been attracted to early at $21.”
Alalcance has tightened from $2.80 into $2.50 favourite for the Sydney Cup.
