Emphatic Cox Plate winner Via Sistina has seen her odds slashed for the 2024 Melbourne Cup in just over a weeks time and she is now the clear cut favourite for the race despite no confirmed plans she will line-up in the race.
Via Sistina was sent out as the $5.00 third favourite behind Prognosis and Pride Of Jenni in today’s Cox Plate but an eight length romp of the field in which she smashed Champion mare Winx’s race record would suggest she is primed to run a solid 3200m of the Melbourne Cup at Flemington on Tuesday week.
Prior to her win in the Cox Plate she was a $21 chance with online betting sites to win the Melbourne Cup 2024 but they have now been slashed into $5.00 and favourite ahead of International raider Jan Brueghel and eye catching Caulfield Cup runner-up Buckaroo.
