Weir runner crunched at Eagle Farm

A former Perth mare with enormous upside has been well backed at odds to take out the Premiers Cup (2200m) this Saturday at Eagle Farm.

Neverland, formerly with the Williams camp in WA, has had a couple of runs in the east for Darren Weir and has been pretty good each start. 2200m third up on a big track looks ideal and the punters agree. She opened $9 and has had her odds slashed into $4.60 with the aid of the scratching of the favourite.

Early favourite for the race was the Chairmans Handicap winner Stampede who was at $3.10 but has subsequently been scratched. The Chairman, who was runner behind Stampede, is $4.80 into $4.40 with the scratching.

The early interest at odds has been for Feltre, who is at $26 after opening $34.
