Stop the press…Winx is a drifter in the Warwick Stakes (1400m) market with Sportsbet.com.au this Saturday at Randwick.
But it does seem as though the boys and girls at Sportsbet are feeling generous. Earlier on Friday, they were offering a power play on the great mare at $1.50, and that was taken within minutes of it being announced. In the proper market, she is $1.08 out from her opening price of $1.07 but she did touch $1.09, which is quite amazing really for a race horse. But she is one amazing specimen and will be going for 18 in a row.
Everything else is out in betting bar one. Foxplay ($17-$19), Inference ($18-$19) and Harper’s Choice have all eased, but the only firmer has been one of the rank outsiders, Red Excitement, with a couple of thrill seekers hoping that the greybeard will cause the upset of all upsets. He is $126 into $101.
