The spotlight shone on Arrowfield-sired 2YOs today in New Zealand, Canberra & Sydney.

First season sire All American was credited with his second winner when 2YO filly American Time (ex Danetana by Danehill) won over 1000 metres on debut at Canberra by a comfortable two lengths.

American Time was a $20,000 Inglis Scone purchase from Arrowfield by trainer Gratz Vella and is the fourth winner from Danetana, a three-quarter sister-in-blood to Group 1 winner and champion sire Fastnet Rock.

All American’s impressive first winner Invisible has unfrotunately been side-lined following an injury he suffered during the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

All American has 13 yearlings catalogued for the upcoming Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale, including a pair of colts in the Arrowfield consignment.

At the Canterbury night races in Sydney 2YO colt Statton (Starcraft-Lady Danette by Danehill) proved a touch too strong for Arrowfield’s debutant Limehills (Redoute’s Choice-Velocitea by Volksraad), who ran home generously after sitting wide much of the way. |

Statton was a $70,000 buy for his trainer Peter Moody from the Arrowfield draft at the 2013 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale, and his full brother is Lot 338 in the Stud’s 2014 Melbourne draft.

Limehills is the first foal of Group 1-winning sprinter Velocitea, whose yearling and current foal are also colts by Arrowfield’s champion sire.

In New Zealand 2YO filly Thrill (Flying Spur-Stella Livia by Titus Livius), having her second start, won stylishly at Rotorua. Owner Gary Harding paid Trelawney Stud $400,000 for her at last year’s New Zealand Premier Sale.

Stella Livia is a grand-daughter of a half-sister to champion filly and influential broodmare Fanfreluche, theΒ  third dam of Flying Spur.

Fourteen Arrowfield-sired yearlings will go through the ring at next week’s New Zealand Premier Sale, among them two Flying Spur fillies, four colts & a filly by Starcraft and a Redoute’s Choice colt from Group 3 winner Ready to Lift.
