With the news that jockey Damien Oliver has received a 20 meeting ban for his ride on Flying Artie in today’s Blue Sapphire Stakes ruling him out of the Cox Plate an owner of a confirmed Cox Plate runner has had his phone go into a frenzy receiving 38 calls in 30 minutes.

John Camilleri who is the owner of Cox Plate contender Vadamos said his phone has been in a frenzy since news broke of the suspension to Oliver who was booked to ride the horse.

Vadamos is currently on the fifth line of Cox Plate markets at $17 with Winx and Hartnell dominating the betting.

Camilleri said he will wait for confirmation that Oliver will miss the ride due to the suspension before booking a new rider.
