The late money has come for multiple runners but the best backed runners in the last hour have been favourite Hartnell, second favourite Jameka as well as Big Orange and Almandin. The best backed outside of those runners is Oceanographer.
TIPS: We are backing three runners in the Melbourne Cup. We have heavily backed 17 Almandin (Bet Now: $10.00) throughout betting from $16 into $10 and he sits at his right price. We are now backing 13 Heartbreak City (Bet Now: $19.00) as he has hit a good price and we have specked 2 Our Ivanhowe (Bet Now: $51.00).
Fixed Quinella Tip: Almandin + Heartbreak City (Bet Now: $151.00)
BIG Bets:
$15,000 the win / $30,000 the place on Hartnell (SuperTAB tote)
$8,000 at $6 on Hartnell
$6,000 at $9 on Oceanographer
$5,000 at $26 on Who Shot Thebarman
$4,000 at $16 on Wicklow Brave
Race 6 (1:20PM):
Results: Jennifer Lynn wins Race 6 on #MelbourneCup day with Prompt Response in second and Invincibella in third.

Tips: We two good value bets in this race in the way of 4 Ashlor (Bet Now: $9.00) and 17 Dream First (Bet Now: $14.00). Happy to back these two runners each way.
Three BIG BETS have just been placed on Melbourne Cup runners:
$16,000 at $6 Hartnell
$5,000 at $10 Bondi Beach
$4,000 at $8.50 Jameka
Race 4 (12:40PM):
Result: Demonstrate wins race 4 on Melbourne Cup day from Sovereign Nation in second and Give Us A Go in third.
Demonstrate showed everybody why he was track favourite. #winner #MelbourneCup pic.twitter.com/w1uFsIjs3Q
— FlemingtonRacecourse (@FlemingtonVRC) November 1, 2016
Tip: We are sticking with the favourite and will be smashing 3 Demonstrate (Bet Now: $1.55) to try and get back some losses from earlier races. If you don’t want to take the skinny odds we recommend backing 4 Sovereign Nation (Bet Now: $5.50) he looks the biggest danger.
Race 3 (12:00PM):
Results: Kinema wins Race 3 on #MelbourneCup day with Firenze in second and Four Carat in third.
All eyes were on Kinema who came from behind to take the trophy. #winner #MelbourneCup pic.twitter.com/tlEXkUUiv8

Tip: We are backing 3 Murphys Delight (Bet Now: $6.00) and 11 Morning Mix (Bet Now: $5.00) in Race 3 with multiples placed around these two runners. Confidence is high.
Race 2 (11:20AM):
Result: Sort After wins Race 2 on Melbourne Cup day from Metaphorical in second and Every Faith in third.
Tip: We are tipping 11 Model Dragon (Bet Now: $3.00) to take Race 2 out with our value bet being 3 Every Faith at $8.

Melbourne Cup favourite Hartnell has continued to drift in betting today and is now out to $5.50 after opening at $4.40 when the final field and barriers were announced. Jameka has been well supported $8.50 into $8.00 as has Almandin $15 into$10, Wicklow Brave $21 into$16 and Big Orange $16 into $14.
Shambles: First bookie goes down on Cup day. Will there be more?

Lloyd Williams will be on course for Melbourne Cup day for the first time in 26 years. Confidence? He owners the following horses in the race: Bondi Beach, Gallante, Almandin, Assign.
Race 1 (10:40AM):
Tip: Race 1 on Melbourne Cup day is dominated by the odds on shot 1 Madeenaty (Bet Now: $1.60). We have him on top but youll have to be willing to take the skinny odds of $1.60. For some value we like 10 From The Clouds (Bet Now: $21.00) but its a low confidence race with a lot of first starts.
Market: The two best backed runners in the race have been 1 Madeenaty (Bet Now: $1.60) and 13 Luky Louie (Bet Now: $10.00)
Bets: The only notable bet in Race 1 has been $10,000 at $2.64 on Madeenaty when markets opened.
Melbourne Cup Market:
With more than $2.5million in the TAB pool – Jameka holds favouritism at $7.70 over Hartnell at $9.10 and Oceanographer at $10.80.
Hartnell and Oceanographer have both been notable drifters in Melbourne Cup markets today with good support coming for Big Orange and Jameka.
Track: The current track rating for Flemington is a Good 4 with the Penotromator at 4.85. The track received 0.4mm in rain over the last 24 hours.
