2017 Caulfield Cup Carnival Goes La La

Caulfield Cup winner Jameka

The Melbourne Racing Club is reaching for the stars ahead of its flagship BMW Caulfield Cup Carnival in 2017, launching its ticketing and hospitality packages this week – with the help of a new international partner.

The three-day racing, food and fashion spectacle in October will see Caulfield racegoers enjoy a renovated VIP Heath Enclosure showcasing West Hollywood’s famous E.P & L.P Rooftop Bar and Restaurant, one of a number of packages and precincts to suit every need and budget.

Founded by popular DJ Grant Smillie, the iconic Aussie-run hot spot will be serving up its tailor made tunes and cocktails with true L.A. flair in a new area called The Avenue to all Heath Enclosure guests. To celebrate the partnership and rich history of the $3.15 million BMW Caulfield Cup, ahead of its 140th running, the $155,000 Caulfield Cup trophy made a trip this week to the famous L.A. rooftop establishment for an early taste of the fanfare and glamour to come.

Another win for visitors to Caulfield this year is the stylish new Moët and Chandon Lawn, where guests can enjoy an all-inclusive day of champagne and premium beverages accompanying a stylish grazing menu, located alongside the luxurious David Jones Fashion Stable; the epicentre of all the colour, fashion and heart-stopping racing action.

With $11.2 million in total prizemoney across the 2017 BMW Caulfield Cup Carnival, including a $1 million dollar boost to the stallion-making $2 million Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas for Australasia’s best three-year-old colts and geldings, high-powered fields are expected. That includes a wave of international raiders from the Northern Hemisphere, from which the Caulfield Cup has been won on four occasions since 1998. They will have their work cut out this year, however, with connections of local heroine Jameka confirming plans to fly the Aussie flag and defend her Cup title.

Punters are urged to plan ahead and take advantage of the General Admission Early Bird Ticketing offer which is on sale now until Sunday 24 September to ensure they don’t miss the start of the world-famous Spring Racing Carnival where It’s Just Not Racing.
