Bad omen for the Tigers

The Tiger army is up and about this week after making their first Grand Final in 35 years but it might not be such good news for omen punters.

Daniel Rioli took home the Goal of the Year award at Monday night’s Brownlow Medal and Tiger fans would no doubt be keeping a close eye on his namesake ‘Rioli’, a 3-year-old out of Sepoy and Our Tigress.

Rioli was due to have his second start after winning his maiden first up at Sale earlier this month. However in what could prove to be a bad omen for Richmond fans, the 3-year-old galloper has been scratched on Saturday.

In more bad news for omen punters, Dusty Jack has also been scratched from the opening race at Caulfield on Sunday.

Dusty Jack usually dons the yellow and black silks and has already racked up over $80,000 in his 9 career starts.

While it may be a bad sign for omen punters, the Tiger Army will be hoping they can scratch their way into history tomorrow as they take on the more fancied Adelaide Crows in the AFL Grand Final.
