A car parked on the track caused disruption during the 14.04 handicap race at Craon in France. The vehicle was positioned just before the 14th of 16 fences, forcing jockeys to take evasive action. Despite the obstacle, all seven horses avoided the car and cleared the fence safely.
Axel Lepage, riding the leading horse J’Irai Loin, passed the car on its left, while three horses, including the eventual winner Bojack Horseman, swerved to the right to avoid the vehicle.
Footage of the incident, captioned “Parking ticket, surely!” was shared online by At The Races, highlighting the unusual situation. This is not the first instance of a vehicle causing chaos on a French racetrack. In 2022, a moving van struck two horses at Compiegne; both horses later recovered, with one even winning the race.
