Punters who backed $9 chance Greatness Awaits at Uttoxeter in the UK overnight wonβt want to read on, but rider Luca Morgan put forward claims for a role at the Paris 2024 Olympics for Gymnastics with his deeds.
He was riding Greatness Awaits in a 3171m Hurdle at Uttoxeter and despite being in a tricky position throughout the race, he was near the front heading into the final 400m and was surging hard, potentially looming to win the race, but Morgan came off in the final few strides. Punters did their money cold as the horse was declared a runner. Whether he would have won for certain remains unknown but clearly was going to run second.
Thankfully, Morgan came through the tumble unscathed and walked back to the jockeys room with a likely bruised ego.
