David Hayes-trained Ka Ying Rising secured his seventh consecutive victory in emphatic style, smashing a long-standing track record in the Group 2 Jockey Club Sprint (1200m).
The red-hot favourite with betting sites on Sunday, Ka Ying Rising justified his $1.10 price on the local tote, delivering a breathtaking performance to break Sacred Kingdomโs 17-year-old record. Sacred Kingdomโs time of 1:07.50, set on November 17, 2007, was eclipsed by 0.07 seconds as Ka Ying Rising stopped the clock at 1:07.43.

Displaying effortless dominance, Ka Ying Rising cruised to a 3.25-length victory over Howdeepisyourlove. The win was made all the more memorable by jockey Zac Purtonโs celebratory gestureโa blown kiss before crossing the finish line.
When asked about the rare show of emotion, Purton explained: โI knew it was a track record, so I thought Iโd seal it with a kiss.โ
The performance cements Ka Ying Rising as arguably the best sprinter in the world.
