Punters who backed Mai Aloha have blown up on X over a protest that saw the horse lose the race.
Mai Aloha who was sent out as the $2.70 second favourite with betting apps won by a length on the line but despite the margin was relegated to second after jockey of Overdrive Jade Mc Naught threw in a protest.
Mc Naught was aboard the Neville Parnham trained galloper who was noticeably cut out by the winner Mai Aloha in the straight but did look to have ample opportunity to narrow the margin which has prompted some punters to get disgruntled about the decision to award the second horse the race.

Punters werenβt happy about the decision:
Protest upheld R1 @ Belmont. Thought winner held comfortably while eased up. Anyone agree with the decision? (that didnβt back Overdrive)
