The Fields have been released for Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup day apart from the feature race itself with the final field to be finalised after the running of Saturday’s Lexus Archer Stakes.
As we have come to expect on Melbourne Cup day the fields are big and even with lots of chances in each of them given punters betting on them plenty of value.
The first race on the card kicks off pretty early at 10:45am and is for the 2YO’s in the way of the Darley Maribyrnong Plate.
The final race will be run at 5:15pm with the $8m Melbourne Cup itself fitting into its normal time slot at 3PM.
The Melbourne Cup Field will be announced around 5PM on Saturday with the Barrier Draw to be conducted an hour later.
