Champion galloper Alligator Blood is poised for a new chapter in his illustrious racing career after recovering from a serious pastern injury that once threatened to end it.
The seven-time Group 1 winner has been transferred to the stable of Chris Waller, with owners Jeff and Robyn Simpson seeking a fresh approach for the now-veteran horse. Wallerβs renowned training methods, combined with a change of scenery, were pivotal in the decision.
After nearly a year of rehabilitation, Alligator Blood has defied the odds. Scans have confirmed a full recovery, with no scarring or lasting effects. His journey included care at Vision Equine in Queensland and training at Limitless Lodge in NSW, both integral to his remarkable comeback.
A standout of the 2023 Spring Carnival, Alligator Blood secured victories in the Underwood Stakes and Might And Power Stakes, before placing third in the Cox Plate.
