The Apprentice Jockey Training Program have welcomed their latest group of inductees, including a number of well known industry names.
Tayla Childs, 21, is the daughter of 72-time Group One winning jockey Greg Childs. She begin her apprenticeship under Andrew Noblett at Caulfield in hope to eventually join her twin brother Jordan in the jockey ranks.
Jye McNeil’s younger brother Logan has also joined the Apprentice Jockey Training Program with the 16-year-old starting his apprenticeship under Mansfield trainer Gerald Egan.
They join 17-year-old Tatum Bull (indentured to Kylie Vella), 18-year-old Alana Kelly (indentured to her father Daniel P. Kelly) and 17-year-old Madison Lloyd (indentured to Nathan Hobson) as the latest apprentice jockeys to join the program.
The 5 new apprentices brings the total number of Victorian apprentices to 43, with 46% of those being female.
