Trainer Henry Dwyer has hinted that Asfoora may return to Royal Ascot, citing a lack of suitable races in Australia.
Connections plan to race Asfoora well into her six-year-old season, with potential runs in France on Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe Day and the US Breeders’ Cup in 2024.
A return to Royal Ascot in 2025 to defend her King Charles III Stakes title is also on the cards.
“I don’t see why you wouldn’t, if she’s in good order. Akram (El-Fahkri) wants to keep racing her because she’s winning more than a million bucks this preparation.” Dwyer explained.
With few 1000m race options in Australia, Dwyer sees international racing as the best path forward.
Asfoora is set to compete in the Group 2 King George Stakes at Goodwood on August 2 and the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York on August 24, where she is a $5.50 chance with online bookmakers.
