The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s licensing committee has confirmed that, subject to the usual formalities, it has granted a Club Jockey’s licence to Luke Currie and Daniel Moor to ride in the precinct until the end of the current Hong Kong racing season.
Currie, who has thirteen Group 1 winners behind his name, has previously ridden in Singapore, Malaysia and Mauritius, while Moor, with three Group 1 wins in the past year, also has a couple of seasons experience in Singapore to call on … but clearly the tough competitive nature of the Hong Kong racing riding environment will amount to arguably the biggest challenge the two riders have faced in their respective careers.
The Club media release did not specify a date on which the riders would kick off in Hong Kong, but it is expected that they will not waste any time in setting off on their new adventure.
