Billy Slater to ride at Magic Millions carnival

We all know that Queensland legend Billy Slater was once a track work rider for Gai Waterhouse – long before he hit his straps as a superstar rugby league player, but what isn’t widely known is that Billy can wield a mallet too.

And he, along with Tommy Berry and Hughie Bowman, will be playing on January 6 up at the Gold Coast in a charity Polo match.

So will South Australian star Jamie Kah.

It’s all part of the Magic Millions Yearling sales Carnival and raceday where the Magic Millions Classic and the Magic Millions Guineas headline the richest Queensland meeting of the year.
