Blake Shinn encountered another setback with the stewards, receiving a suspension for careless riding at Flemington on New Year’s Day.
Shinn, who admitted to the charge, caused interference during the fifth race while seeking clear space for his mount, Whiskey On The Hill, at the 400-meter mark. Whiskey On The Hill ultimately finished sixth.
Since returning from Hong Kong in 2022, Shinn has achieved notable success in Australia, including winning the Melbourne jockey’s premiership.
However, his career has also been marked by multiple suspensions.
This latest suspension sidelines Shinn for nine meetings, beginning January 4 and concluding January 11.
The timing of the ban enables him to participate in the lucrative Magic Millions meeting at the Gold Coast on January 13.
