Godolphin’s rising star Broadsiding completed an impressive second gallop at Moonee Valley on Tuesday morning, solidifying his preparations for Saturday’s $5 million Cox Plate. Under the guidance of jockey Jamie Kah, Broadsiding stepped up his pace during the Breakfast With The Best session, following a slower-paced look at the track last Thursday.

Kah was full of praise for the horse, noting his poise and familiarity with the course despite this being only his second gallop at Moonee Valley. “He feels like he’s been here 100 times before,” Kah said, impressed by how Broadsiding switched to the right leg coming around the home turn at the perfect moment.

Currently listed as the $6 third favourite with betting sites, Broadsiding enters the Cox Plate with high expectations. Kah, with 14 Group 1 wins already under her belt, expressed how much it would mean to add a Cox Plate victory to her list of achievements, describing it as the race she dreams of winning most. “If I could pick one, it would be the Cox Plate,” she said.
