Buffering has arrived in Hong Kong after getting equine rock star transport from Dubai.
The star Queensland sprinter won the Group One Al Quoz Sprint in Dubai two weeks ago and is being set for the Chairman’s Sprint Prize at Sha Tin on May 1.

Trainer Robert Heathcote was in immediate contact with Buffering’s strapper Melanie Sharpe when they touched down in Hong King on Thursday morning.
“I couldn’t believe it when Mel told they were the only ones on the giant Boeing jet which took them to Hong Kong. There wasn’t even a parcel or another passenger,” Heathcote said.
“It was rock star treatment for a horse and was much appreciated. Buffering was checked over at the airport and then sent to the on-course international quarantine area at Sha Tin.”
Heathcote said he had been in contact with the Sha Tin vet who knew Buffering from two years ago.
“She will go right over him and monitor his progress for the next few days.”
Heathcote has pulled the plug on a Royal Ascot trip for Buffering, saying having to leave his stable for three weeks was a contributing factor.
“I had two weeks in Dubai and even with state-of-the-art internet it was hard to stay on top of things with the winter carnival coming up,” he said.
Heathcote has been mapping out the winter campaigns of his team including including Bewhatyouwannabe who runs in the QPOS Open (1350m) on Saturday.
“He won in Listed class over 1600 metres at his last start and Saturday’s race might be bit short,” Heathcote said.
“His immediate target is the Listed Tails Quality over 1600 metres at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday fortnight. Then we can go into the carnival from there.”
